Daily Job Seeker Tip: Using social media in your job search

January 7th, 2011 | Job Search | No Comments »

Times are a-changing, and the traditional routes for the typical job seeker are becoming slowly less effective. Networking, especially through online social media networks, can be one of the most valuable paths to finding your dream job, if you know what you’re doing.

Write yourself a short but interesting bio/profile relating to your profession, and start connecting with other job seekers, companies of interest, recruiters, and advice-givers. Listen and respond to what they’re saying. Have conversations – don’t focus entirely on yourself and your job search, as this will appear desperate.
