Daily Job Search Tip: It’s time

April 20th, 2011 | Job Search | 2 Comments »

Time to take your time. Stop rushing in your job search, and you’ll find something faster.

Yes, we know, you’ve heard it before: Patience is a Virtue. Sure, but when you’re job searching, it’s easy to forget and resort to desperation under the pressure. When you’re anxious and worried about making your next career step, patience can be one if your greatest strengths and tools.

Desperation leads to mass resume-mailing, which almost never works, decreased interview performance, and job search despair, which is hard to break out of.

Be patient and remain positive. Take time to customize your resume to each company, prepare and rehearse for interviews, and keep plowing through your job search with maintained patient and optimism.

As a career coach and business/HR executive I find this short post very spot on! So many people are rushed and anxious about their employment prospects, thus not enabling themselves to put their best foot forward during their respective job search. Calm down, develop a plan, work the plan and relax! Talented people who are self assured, relaxed and communicate effectively will find work!

    Great post!
