We are seeking a Field Service Technician to provide top-tier support to our clients around the Boston area. You will travel around Boston to client sites to support clients on both desktop and server issues. This will include troubleshooting their issues, installing and configuring new equipment, installing upgrades to software, modifying infrastructure, managing Active Directory and Exchange environments and training end users. You will also be called upon to make recommendations on new products and techniques that will help their business from a technology standpoint. You will utilize a ticketing system to document, track and monitor problems.
In this client-focused role, no two days are ever the same and you will be exposed to a variety of technologies and client environments. In addition, you will be offered a strong compensation and benefits package, and the opportunity to grow.
Ideally, you will have worked for an MSP or a consulting firm, and have supported a variety of technical environments. A strong technical background, along with a personable demeanor, is absolutely required. You will have at least 3 years of experience supporting as many of the following technologies as possible:
· MS Windows servers & desktops / laptops
· Active Directory
· MS Exchange
· VPN / remote software
· LAN / WAN
· MS Office Suite / Office 365
· Active Sync.
Experience troubleshooting and supporting both desktops and servers needed. The ability to be self-sufficient and figure things out on your own, and to ask for help when you can’t figure it out, is essential. You will be expected to be the SME, and clients must feel that you are. The majority of the clients are in Boston and reachable via public transportation, but you must have a car, or the ability to drive a company car with a Driver’s License in good standing, to reach the 20% of clients that are outside the city.
