Work for an industry leader while you dream up new products! We are seeking an New Product Designer for an R&D position to conceptualize and design mechanical products. You will work closely with the marketing department to determine client / industry needs – and then develop and test those products. You will be responsible for new products designs from concept to production – this will include researching new trends, ROI analysis, consumer demand research, manufacturability (DFM), cost analysis, detailed designs, testing and production instructions. In addition to designing new products, you will look for ways to improve or enhance existing products.

You will have a BS in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical preferred) and at least 3 years of experience in new product design utilizing solid modeling tools (Solidworks, Pro-E, Inventor). A proven track record of developing new products desired. Knowledge of manufacturing techniques, especially for metals and plastics, necessary for this role. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and take the initiative to work on new projects in a fast-paced environment.

Required:

  • BS in Engineering (BSME preferred)
  • 3+ years of new product design experience
  • Metals and plastic manufacturing knowledge
  • Solid modeling software experience (Solidworks, Pro-E, Inventor)
